Ethos & Values

Driven to be outstanding in all that we do  RespectPoster

North Chadderton School is built on an ethos and culture of success and aspiration for every single student whatever their background or ability. The school’s mission statement is “Driven to be outstanding in all that we do”. This is echoed in our high quality learning offer, during unstructured time - at break and lunchtimes as well as before and after school, where a wide variety of opportunities are available to every student.

The school has 5 core values, the “5 R’s”. The entire school community are expected to demonstrate these values throughout the school day. They are as follows:

• Responsible
• Resourceful
• Resilient
• Reflective
• Reasoning

All underpinned by a highly positive culture of respect.

The 5 core values and the highly positive culture of respect for everyone within the wider school community; adults and students, parents, partners and carers and external stakeholders, sets down a blue-print to help prepare every student for a lifetime of success.

The school heavily invests in the growth and development of all of its workforce. It strongly promotes ’One Team’ working hard to support each other. The ethos of staff development is reinforced by a weekly offer of continuing professional development designed to respond to key school priorities.

Successful education is about working in close partnership with our students and providing a personalised educational pathway for each one of them whatever their ability, so that they can achieve success during each year that they are in the school. Our guarantee is that we prepare each student for life after school by offering a broad and balanced curriculum so that they have an excellent learning offer. We want to ensure every student is “school ready, work ready and life ready.”

In conclusion, the school is focussed on developing student and staff leadership at every single level. It strives to embed growth mindset, opportunity, aspiration and success to enable every student and every adult employed in the school to simply “be the best that they can be”.
